Malta Needs To Grow Its Presentation Skills, Radio Host Encourages After Shark Tank Malta Debuts
A popular radio host and business owner urged the island to do something to improve its public speaking skills following the debut episode of Shark Tank Malta.
“Malta needs to improve its presentation, communication, and public speaking skills,” said Martina Zammit, who owns VSquared and hosts a popular show on VIBE FM.
“This was one of the things that came to my mind as I watched the first episode of Shark Tank Malta. While I thought the production was very good, the quality and level of (general) presentations during the show made it so clear that the Maltese education system needs to be strengthened. ”
Speaking in a general sense, Zammit focused on the way Maltese people tend to approach pitches or public addresses, often lacking persuasive, convincing or engaging elements. Zammit blamed the island’s education system.
“We need to make sure that we are giving children, from a very young age, the tools they need to learn about entrepreneurship, ways to build confidence, know how to choose the right words, and sell ideas because we believe in them, ”she said.
“And this is not just for aspiring entrepreneurs – working on personal development and self-confidence will be helpful in any aspect of life. I speak from my own personal experience when addressing an audience that is always tough for me to overcome self-doubt and apprehension. ”
“Isn’t that all Shark Tank? No matter how bad or bad the idea itself may be, you need to convince someone to invest in your idea. The key word: persuasion. ”
Four entrepreneurs presented their ideas in the debut episode of the show, with an investment of € 130,000 together already made.
Do you think that Malta’s public speaking skills are on an equal footing?
