António Augusto Ferreira died on Tuesday, at the Hospital de Pedro Hispano, in Matosinhos, at the age of 67.
Ferreira, who was treated like that, due to the intimacy of his nickname, had a professional career that included leadership roles in our newspaper and in “Record”, having stood out for the knowledge and treatment given to the sport he was passionate about, athletics, and who practiced – was one of the founders and heavy hitter of CAP (Centro de Atletismo do Porto).
He covered major events, such as Barcelona’92, and authored a book on the history of the Olympic Games, another of his passions.
The body of António Ferreira is in a burning chamber from 2 pm this Wednesday in the chapel of the cemetery of Paranhos, in Porto.
