Technology system integrator and operating technology contractor, Ramjack Technology Solutions (RAMJACK), today announced its acquisition of the Swedish underground robot innovator, Inkonova AB. RAMJACK commented: “This move is the latest step in RAMJACK’s aggressive expansion of their technology stack with a focus on safety, sustainability and productivity in the mining sector – a strategy that already includes partnerships with some of the most advanced real-time technology innovators in the world.”
Inkonova was founded in 2014 and is an industry-leading drone designer based in Stockholm, Sweden, and the creators of the underground drone platform Batonoumous. Inkonova’s unique technology can fly independently and beyond the space of its pilot and introduces the first of its kind real-time connection that RAMJACK says revolutionizes how mines collect spatial information about inaccessible underground areas.
“Creating Inkonova has been a rewarding experience and I’m happy to hand over the reins to the passionate mining technology experts at RAMJACK to take it to the next level,” said Pau Mallol, founder and chief innovator of Inkonova. “The technological advances we have made with Inkonova’s product range give me great pride, and I look forward to seeing RAMJACK’s market reach help bring these exciting products to the global mining industry.”
Inaccessible areas in underground mines pose significant productivity and safety challenges for miners who must produce efficiently while protecting the health and safety of their employees and equipment. Autonomous drone technology provides valuable insights and reliable 3D visualization – even in inaccessible areas – to ensure safe, efficient and profitable underground operations.
“RAMJACK has enjoyed working with Inkonova for many years, so we are already well aware of the advanced features of their technology,” said Mike Jackson, President and CEO of RAMJACK. “Because underground mines want to improve their production and safety performance, the ability to map inaccessible areas efficiently and safely is a critical success factor. Mobile mapping is a growing segment of the industry and although there are some early initiators in the space – such as the Australian company Emesent – We are pleased to show how our advanced technology can take real-time monitoring of underground mines to a whole new level. ” The closing date for the acquisition is April 30, 2022, when RAMJACK will include all Inkonova technologies in RAMJACK’s product suite.
