Open days: players’ union at FC Wacker Innsbruck – football
Vienna – Monday, April 11th, 2022, 09:55 am
FC Wacker Innsbruck faces challenging weeks.
If Senate 5 of the Bundesliga announces the accepted license applications in a first broadcast by Wednesday, the traditional club from the Tyrolean capital will not be among them.
In the club’s office, the employees have been waiting for their period since February, and the club’s players are no different.
Joppich and Co. with an ultimatum
The players are already meeting outside of training to discuss how to proceed. A letter is planned that gives the board a period of ten to fourteen days to settle the fees outstanding in April.
They want to find “a solution that is satisfactory for both sides,” says player representative Andreas Joppich in an interview with “TT“. The 27-year-old defender has been with the club since 2019.
On February 18, club president Kevin Radi presented the new investor Thomas Kienle, who recently described his commitment as an affair of the heart. But since then almost two months have passed and still no money has flowed.

Should no investor money continue to flow (3 million euros would be in the room) and the payments to the employees and players are not paid out in the time frame, this could result in a number of contract terminations.
In this case, the pros at FC Wacker Innsbruck would be available for free.
