Meeting at the “Bar Cecchetto” with the cross-border commuters of San Marino
Yesterday 10 April, at the “Bar Cecchetto”, seat of the civic list of Claudio Cecchetto, candidate for mayor of Riccione, a delegation from the COMITES (Committees of Italians Abroad), the cross-border commuters of San Marino, was presented. The Elective Council was present with the new president, the lawyer Alessandro Amadei and the candidate Marisa Grossi. They asked the candidate for mayor the need for the San Marino government to approve a reform on citizenship. The first knot to be resolved is still citizenship of origin, as a condition for obtaining citizenship for the elimination of the Amarinese by naturalization that some Europeans have long had to support in San Marino to eliminate.
“A real thorn in the side for many citizens of Riccione (foreigners), who are asked to renounce their origins and the inability to vote and participate in administrative procedures, both passively resident and associated.”
The civic cooperation that supports the candidate for mayor Claudio Cecchetto has been asked to intervene in order to face the Italian government and the San Marino government for the solution of this natural request of belonging to one’s own history, one’s roots.
