March was the wettest month of the last decades in Portugal
March was the fifth hottest month ever globally. In Portugal, it was none of the most serious moments in the last regions and, at the moment, it is in extreme drought, the most serious level.
The third month of the year was marked by contrasts in temperatures in several areas of the globe, but in Portugal, in the first half of March, temperatures register below normal values, however, without “a single day of frost”.
“The minimum temperatures heated.
Globally, March was the fifth hottest month since it recordedwith thermometers recording temperatures 0.4 degrees Celsius above normal. A value that may seem low, but that has an impact, as the professional explains.
“If we add 10 years it becomes half a degree globally. In fact, we are communicating that”.
After months of extreme drought, the most serious level, arrived in Portugal in March, one of the wettest months of the last two decades. It rained in most of the territory, “far above the average in the case of the southern region, as in the Algarve and Alentejo”, “but it is still not enough to end the drought situation”, concluded climatologist Vanda Pires.
The data from this show that the temperatures recorded so far are low, but everything indicates that this month Easter must be one of the hottest of the last decade.
