The Titano San Marino beats Tolentino and mathematically locks one of the first 2 places
Concentrated goal. With the win on Tolentino (71-66) i Titans mathematically they give themselves the certainty of one of the first two places, therefore of the favorable field factor in all the playoffs.
The success on the team from the Marche is not easy. After a rather substantial initial advantage of the Titano Basketball (also 25-10), the guests managed to recover up to even having the overtaking ball a couple of times in the fourth period. Then the final sprint, played with intelligence and strong nerves until the final 71-66.
THE CHRONICLE – 1st quarter. Our team immediately attack the guest area in a big way and seem to never be able to make mistakes, especially from the middle distance. Fornaciari opens for 3, then the baskets of Altavilla, Fusco, Raschi and Saponi (two triples) before Gamberini’s 6-point streak for 25-10 at 8 ‘. In the meantime, Fraga begins to refuel and stitches up again for the 25-15 of the 10 ‘.
2nd quarter. At 32-17 comes the guest break with two triples from Mazzoleni, one from Fraga and the basket from Rossi. All to be redone on 32-28 at 17 ‘, but the closing of the period is all of the biancazzurri with the very high specific weight baskets of Saponi and Altavilla, authors of two other triples (40-30 at 20’).
3rd quarter. It travels in jerks and scarcely marks. Very little. Tolentino recovers with an irrepressible Lautaro Fraga (46-42), but Raschi reacts like a champion and the fourth quarter final is a show. The race remains on the line, with Naspi’s triple to seal the 52-48 Titans in the 30 ‘.
4th quarter. Fornaciari immediately warms his hand, but on Santinelli’s long-range basket the guests are at -1 (55-54). The yo-yo in the score does not stop, with coach Porcarelli’s boys trying a mini-extension and with the guests to mend again with Fraga (60-59 to -4’40 “). The basket that definitively puts the game on the side of the Titans is a triple of enormous character from Altavilla (67-61). Fraga scores a brace for the free at 59 ”from the gong (67-63), our players do not materialize in attack but Fornaciari is the author of a great block that breaks the Marche’s attempt to recover. Raschi scores 2/2 for free at -14 “, with Fraga placing another surreal triple and keeping the games alive (69-66 at -10”). Time is on the side of the Titans, with Raschi putting the points of the definitive 71-66 from the line. (Source: Titano San Marino basketball press office)
