Start of the lower play-off of the regional league Tyrol – the fight for relegation has begun. Already the first game a trend-setting for the SV Innsbruck. It’s at home against the leader of the table FC Wacker Innsbruck II and the SVI shows that the race for fixed tickets for the coming season is absolutely open. With a great performance, Wacker II is defeated 4:1, making a big step to unlock a remaining field. On Sunday, the Tyrolean amateurs and Hall will face each other.
Fast 2:0 lead of SV Innsbruck
At the Wiesengasse sports field, the guests will probably be surprised by a strong playing home team. The SVI has to try everything to regain direct contact with the field and in the home game against the table leader Wacker II they show that the potential is absolutely there. The lead in the ninth minute – aggressive pressing by SVI and Ertugrul Yösavel puts SVI in the lead. Only five minutes later – after a corner for Wacker – a stronger counterattack by SVI. Seventeen-year-old Paul Heel fielded nineteen-year-old Lukas Steinbacher and it was 2-0 for SVI in the 14th minute. The SVI has the game absolutely under control and goes into the break 2-0.
Bad luck for SVI in the 55th minute – Julius Leonhard Heimpel only hits the post. That would probably have been the decision, but then a short weaker phase of the SVI. Things get tight again in the 71st minute – Aboubacar Cisse scores from a penalty to make it 1:2 for the guests. But four minutes later, the SVI reacts. Lukas Steinbacher on Heimpel, first Qurlat, then the 3:1. The fourth goal for the SVI comes after a cross and a blatant goalkeeper mistake by the guests – Lukas Steinbacher makes the final score of 4:1 for the SVI.
Best players SV Innsbruck: Daniel Kofler (IV), Lukas Tinzl (6), Lukas Steinbacher (left MF), Julius Leonhard Heimpel (ST)
Martin Hofbauer, coach SV Innsbruck: “Except for a few minutes, my team was clearly the better team over the ninety minutes. A very good performance by my team, apart from the penalty kick, Wacker II actually had no chance of scoring!”
