Newcastle United transfer news: Jarrod Bowen and Tottenham Hotpsur target
Your Newcastle United transfer roundup for Sunday, April 10.
Battle for Bowen
Newcastle want to sign West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen this summer, claim 90min. The Magpies missed out on the 25-year-old in January 2020 as the player opted to move to London.
The Hammers are vying for a new contract for their talisman – who has netted 14 goals in all competitions. Bowen is a fan favorite at West Ham but St James’ Park’s new mega-rich scheme could offer a better deal. The report claims Newcastle are ready to challenge any team in the pursuit of Bowen, with Liverpool also keen on uncertainty over Mo Salah’s future.
Strasbourg raid
French release RMC sports claims Gerzino Nyamsi is being watched by Newcastle. The centre-back is impressing in Ligue 1 this season, with Strasbourg in fourth place and battling for a Champions League spot.
The Toon Chiefs made defense a priority in January, but unsuccessful chases by Sven Botman and Diego Carlos forced them to change course. Dan Burn arrived from Brighton – and has since impressed – but signing additional backline reinforcement will still be on the cards this summer. Strasbourg would demand a significant fee, however, as Nyamsi is under contract until 2025.
Spurs hunt Toon target
Tottenham Hotspur are linked with a move for Newcastle target Kim Min-jae. A previous report from CNN Turkish claimed that both clubs are touting the Fenerbahce centre-back, who has played 42 times for South Korea.
The Turkish giants take on bitter rivals Galatasaray in the Istanbul derby this weekend and Fanatic reports that Spurs will send scouts to watch the defender. Tottenham striker Son Heung-min has reportedly urged his compatriot to join him in north London.
