Bogliasco, painless defeat in Verona: the playoffs are a reality
Verona. The regular season of Bogliasco ends with a defeat but also with a big smile like that.
The KO suffered at the home of CSS Verona, who won 17-10 in the recovery of the 15th round of the women’s Serie A1, is in fact completely painless for the biancazzurre already sure they have reached the Scudetto playoffs before even going into the pool. The previous fall of Trieste, a direct competitor in the race for sixth place, the last useful one to access the high ranking play-offs, had in fact made the match held in the late afternoon at Mont Blanc between the Venetians and the Ligurians useless.
The goal grabbed within four days, thanks to the successes on Como and Trieste itself, became definitive today, crowning a season that saw Mario Sinatra’s girls hit both goals set at the beginning of the season: the final six of the Italian Cup and that of the championship. This last placement also means salvation and at the same time the national participation of the bogliaschine for the thirteenth time, the eleventh consecutive, at the maximum tournament, also for the next competitive year.
Coming to the news of the day, the challenge with CSS soon took the path of the hosts, ahead 5-1 after eight minutes and able to close the accounts completely before the change of pool. For Bogliasco we note the hat-trick of Gaia Gagliardi, the braces of Giulia Lombella and Rosa Rogondino and the single markings of Marta Carpaneto, Emma De March and Bianca Rosta, in addition to the penalty that Carlotta Malara rejected in Esposito in the last quarter.
The biancazzurre will now return to the water at the end of the month to face the very strong SIS Roma in the quarter-final of the Scudetto playoffs, in a challenge to the best of three races.
