Miscellaneous – Justice | Road drama in Gadagne: the three victims were from Vaucluse
In the aftermath of the fatal accident which claimed the lives of three people, the gendarmes of the Avignon company and in particular the investigators of the Saint-Saturnin-lès-Avignon brigade, are continuing their investigations.
Regarding the identity of the victims, it has not been revealed, but all are from Vaucluse. Among the four occupants of the Peugeot 207, some qualified to move very recently to Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne and the other residents on the outskirts of Avignon. The three deceased occupants were 19, 22 and 31 years old. The driver of the Peugeot 207, 20, was still hospitalized yesterday in serious condition and could not be heard by the military. The other driver, that of the SUV, a 47-year-old man from Avignon, was also hospitalized.
Yesterday, the Avignon prosecutor’s office was awaiting the results of the samples (alcohol and narcotics) taken from the two drivers, but already the first elements collected suggested that a dangerous maneuver by the driver would be the cause of the tragic accident.
Several witnesses told investigators that long before she lost control of her vehicle and collided head-on with the SUV, the driver allegedly overtook several cars. A final overrun could also be the cause of the dramatic accident.
