Cologne The Fibo fitness fair started again in Cologne on Thursday. Athletes show how their bodies stay in shape. The organizer expects 50,000 visitors.
Whether sweaty equipment training or bodybuilding shows: After a Corona break, the Cologne fitness fair Fibo opens again on Thursday (9 a.m.) for visitors. The first two days, only trade visitors are admitted, such as studio operators and dealers. On Saturday and Sunday, the Cologne exhibition halls will also be open to the general public. Visitors can try out equipment, do yoga, or sample sports drinks under the guidance of trainers. According to the fitness industry, health awareness has increased in times of Corona, which is why the umbrella term health is paramount.
Celebrities also want to give visitors fitness tips, for example the actor and former bodybuilder Ralf Möller (63). The trends exhibited at the fair include playful digital components designed to keep users of fitness equipment motivated and engaged.
In 2019, 145,000 visitors came to Fibo, but this year the organizers are only expecting around 50,000 visitors. In 2020 there was a purely online version of the fair, in 2021 the industry event was completely canceled. Now the Fibo makers dare to restart. Fibo claims to be the world’s largest trade fair for fitness, wellness and health. In addition to equipment manufacturers and service providers, representatives of fitness studios are also involved.
