Conflicts – Munich – Bavaria wants to give refugees access to universities – Bavaria
Munich (dpa/lby) – Ukrainian students are to be given access to universities in Bavaria with a short-term change in the law. “We have already received the first inquiries from Ukrainian students who want to enroll at a Bavarian university,” said Science and Art Minister Markus Blume (CSU) on the radio station Antenne Bayern on Thursday. “We will change the Bavarian Higher Education Act in a flash and also enable the universities to make very easily accessible offers without having to formally register as a student.”
The minister told the broadcaster that he hopes that people will soon be able to attend numerous cultural events again after the long period of corona restrictions. You had to learn to be normal again, he said.
He gave the cultural workers in Bavaria hope that there would be no closures again in the autumn. “Clear message: In the future, culture will not be treated differently than other sectors.” At the beginning of the pandemic there were no concepts, no mask and no vaccine. “That’s why we can – if there is another wave of infections – start with more differentiated and lying concepts,” he said.
