Angeldahl treble helps Sweden to cross to the World Cup qualifiers
Filippa Angeldahl scored a hat trick in the first half when Sweden maintained its 100% qualifying record for the World Cup for women with an emphatic 15-0 victory over Georgia.
The Olympic silver medalists took a lead with seven goals before half an hour, with Angeldahl’s first strike complemented by Fridolina Rolfo, Stina Blackstenius, Amanda Ilestedt and Jonna Andersson.
The city midfielder then completed his treble with goals eight and ten, with another move from Juventus Lina Hurtig secured Sweden’s astonishing lead before the break.

Angeldahl, who had scored in October’s reverse match, could not add to his position in the second half, but additional goals from Rebecka Blomqvist, Sofia Jakobsson and a double from the former City forward Kosovar Asllani ensured that the Swedes took six from six in qualified. .
Sweden is at the top of Group A, 11 points ahead of the nearest rivals Ireland, even though they have played two more matches before their settlement on Tuesday 12 April.
