CRV – Third commission: presented the MUVIN project (Wine Museum) in Verona – Press Release – Veneto
(Arv) Venice 6 apr. 2022 – The Third Permanent Commission of the Veneto Regional Council chaired by Marco Andreoli (Lega-LV), Vice President Cristina Look (Green Europe), met today at the Academy of Agriculture and Sciences and Letters of Verona.
The day saw the involvement of the regional councilors, the institutional authorities of the Municipality and of the Province of Verona, from the University, Coldiretti, to the sector associations and many others, in a first inspection of the premises of the Marcatali Galleries as headquarters for the establishment of an ecomuseum of wine in Verona. The identified area is equal to 19 thousand square meters, of which 5 thousand are destined for the local museum, with particular attention to zero land consumption, considering that an existing building dating back to the 1950s will be recovered. ; over 1000 parking spaces are planned in the parking area.
President Marco Andreoli, thanked those present at the meeting forcefully for being “proud to be in Verona than to be the capital of Italian wine. Veneto is the first Italian region for production, second to Tuscany; it is no coincidence that Vinitaly is in Verona. I reiterate the importance of Verona as an area and strategic position for all the tourism industries “.
The visit of the Council Commission continued at the Academy of Agriculture and Sciences and Letters of Verona, where the President Carcereri of Prati briefly illustrated the history of the Academy, recalling that it was founded in 1768 by Doge Luigi Mocenigo. An Academy with a remarkable bibliographic and archival heritage, accessible to all located in the heart of Verona, a few steps from Porta Leoni.
President Andreoli then congratulated his fellow councilor Enrico Corsi (Lega – LV) for the MUVIN project, in fact, conceived, developed and presented by Corsi: “The idea comes from a trip to Scotland in Edinburgh, where I went to visit the Scotch Whiskey Museum; later I visited the Wine Museum in Bordeaux in France. A modern, high-tech and highly digitized structure; later in Portugal in Porto. I instinctively thought of creating the same also in Veneto in Verona. The MUVIN must be open every day to attract tourists from all over the world considering the important numbers that Verona and its province add up every year for tourism alone “.
Project coordinator, Paolo Bertelli, who described the project as work in progress, which will allow you to experience paths and experiential spaces. A startup managed by the University of Verona will be involved. The Museum will have an international appearance, a 4.0 Museum and will be connected through the Ministry of Tourism. In conclusion, President Andreoli “The works will last approximately 3 years, a dream that will come true where ample space will be made for the tradition of the territory and which will reconfirm Verona as a wine ambassador. The project is certainly challenging but it will be a feasible and sustainable project and several private individuals are already interested in participating in the financing of the work. I also thank the president of the airport Valerio Catullo, Arena Paolo, who was present at the meeting ”.
