Un maintien presque impossible ?
Last in Ligue 1, tied with FC Metz (23 points), Bordeaux sees its maintenance avoiding day after day when the next deadlines are far from easy to negotiate.
Since their title of champion of France, obtained in 2009 with a team composed among others of Yoann Gourcuff, Marouane Chamakh or Souleymane Diawarathe Girondins of Bordeaux keep falling in the rankings. A situation that has become worrying on the ground but also behind the scenes. The people of Bordeaux have finished the last two exercises at twelfth place. A balance sheet far from being catastrophic at first sight but which could foretell bad things for the future. If the 2019-2020 season was stopped at 28and day because of the pandemic, the next one came to an end and Benoît Costil’s teammates therefore finished at the 12and place, only five lengths of Nantes, 18and and barrage!
A stubborn defence!
What was anticipated lately is confirmed this season. The Girondins occupy last place in our Ligue 1 tied with FC Metz (23 points, 4 wins, 11 draws and 15 losses each) but with a lower goal difference. As it never happens by pure chance, the players of David Guion, arrived a little less than two months ago, will present the worst defense in the championship with 70 goals conceded! A season also marked by numerous corrections against Reims (5-0), Rennes (6-0), Strasbourg (5-2) and Nice (4-0). As we enter the final sprint, Bordeaux is counting four points behind the Saint-Etienne barrage and five on the first relegation player from Clermont. Opponents still within reach of Marines and Whites but the Girondins calendar is not a walk in the park. They will face, in fact, competitors for the maintenance as Metz, Saint-Etienne and Lorient but also clubs in search of Europe such as Lyon, Nantes and Nice. Ligue 1 may have to say goodbye to one of its monuments next season…
Have a good week ?????
