Sweden’s women’s national team release with guide on “how to stop them” when the Arsenal star says that they go to the European Championships 2022 “with gravel and confidence”
Sweden’s women’s national team has released their kit for this summer’s EC 2022 tournament, boldly with instructions on how to beat them.
The website where the shirt is for sale is also included a 34-page guide on how to stop the teamwritten by their match analyst Anders Eriksson.
Sweden is the highest ranked women’s side in Europe, second only to the USA globally, and feels quite confident of proving it before England 2022.
However, they have not won a non-inviting tournament since 1984, despite regularly competing for the highest awards.
However, that has not stopped Sweden from building up its chances this summer, with the kit and the website fully describing how to stop Europe’s top teams.
Arsenal striker Stina Blackstenius discussed the design and said that her team is “better than ever”.
She said: “In the analysis, we reveal exactly how we win, how we play and how the opposing team – perhaps – has a chance to stop us.
“Our team is better than ever, and we are entering the Euro with gravel and confidence.
“This summer we hope that the Swedish people stand with us, it is an important time for our team.”
The “comprehensive guide on how to stop Sweden” does just that, and goes into detail on how to line up against the team in blue and yellow.
“Sweden is one of the fastest playing teams in the world and also one of the very best on counterattack”, it says in the guide.
“Do everything you can to take back the ball when you drop it. Sweden will turn 52 percent of the counterattacks into shots.”
The guide then profiles each member of the squad and describes their strengths, but also their weaknesses.
For example, Real Madrid striker Kosovar Asllani is shown along with a map of her passes, crosses and berries.
“If there’s one thing to try to focus on when playing Asllani, it is her passing,” reads the guide. “Do what you can to get Asllani to play against his own goal to avoid 1-on-1 challenges with your midfielders.”
The creator of the guide, Eriksson, explained what it is for.
“The digital analysis of the team and the individual players is a clue to the opponents,” he said.
“Now they can simply buy the football shirt to have a chance to challenge them in the UEFA Women’s Euro.”
