Marco Rima has reached Geneva – Eastern Switzerland
The first national border is approaching: Marco Rima pedaled his way through western Switzerland on the second day of his bike tour. And now, with the unusual movement in his legs, he finally appreciates the good night’s sleep again. Part 3 of his travelogue.

Buddha once said; no matter how difficult yesterday was, you can always start anew today! That’s correct. Yesterday I found it difficult to fall asleep after a tiring day. After I first tried to count sheep, one of my many fat sheep climbed over the fence so clumsily that I had to laugh so hard that I couldn’t fall asleep again. I’m going to try counting tonight. This usually works fine. Most of the time I count to three… or three-thirty in the morning! Just as an aside: Today it is no longer sleep, but the longed-for state of complete relaxation without any thought background. However!
I cycled west this morning in a fluffy 10 degrees. With a view of the tropics 14 degrees. Splendid. Speaking of the west. Can you still remember your school days; in the east the sun rises, in the south it makes its midday run, in the west it will set, in the north it will never see! My spell was simpler; Never wash without soap. Does not matter! Or as Sepp Blatter used to say: “Futbol meiks ä bötter wörld.” It has nothing to do with my bike tour to the west, but Sepp has nothing to do with football either.

But to the tour. The first stage from Wohlen near Bern to Estavayer le Lac was great. The sandwich I ate at the Restaurant du Port was also great! Then I cycled along Lake Neuchâtel to Yverdon. I had no idea that this city has such a beautiful old town. After that, without stopping for a sandwich, we went directly to La Sarraz, where I treated myself to a beer! This magic drink gave me wings, so that I made it to Geneva during the night hours! A day of sightseeing would be worthwhile just for the many villas that can be seen between Morges and Rolle. Unbelievable, there are many great buildings there on Lake Geneva. And after Rolle it was definitely night. And now I’m floored, exhausted and drained. I am now looking forward to a hot shower and then to my cozy bed.
Dear sleep, I know we had our differences. I hated you as a kid. But now I want to spend more time with you again. Please forgive me. Let’s see if my apologies help!
