Fulltec introduces the new generation of moth control
Salzburg (Austria) For more than ten years, Fulltec has been involved in research, development and, based on this, the Europe-wide approval of natural-based and sustainable biocidal active ingredients. The company that notifies biocide active substances is now one of the well-known B2B suppliers in Europe. A new product series is now coming onto the market, with which the smart Salzburger is further expanding its position within the industry.
Food moths and clothes moths are among the household pests and mainly nest in kitchens and wardrobes. But it is precisely there that many people have reservations about taking action against the animals because they do not want food and clothing to come into contact with potentially undesirable substances.
Concentrated biocide know-how from Austria in use against moths
In the fight against moths, Fulltec uses its two active ingredients Eucalyptus Citriodora Oil H/C and Geraniol, which have already proven themselves in countless other products for repelling and detecting annoying insects and arachnids on the European markets.
The central product of this new range are non-woven bags that can be placed in wardrobes or kitchen cupboards and contain natural granules soaked with the active ingredient.
The effect, which begins immediately after the start of application, reliably keeps the areas to be protected moth-free for up to three months. The Fulltec moth repellent range is supplemented by two liquid products that are used to combat clothes moths.
The future of the biocide market
With its active ingredients based on nature’s example, Fulltec not only sets an example for sustainability, but is also a decisive step ahead of the competition. Fulltec Managing Director Bernhard Ernst explains why this is the case: “In the coming years, most European market regulations will come into force that will have an enormous impact on our industry, as they will entail tax restrictions for certain risky biocides in retail.” .
These new framework conditions provide for a ban on self-service in retail and online trade for killing products (PT 18 – classification according to ECHA). But what does that mean in concrete terms? “These products may then only be stored locked up in retail areas and handed over to the end customer after consultation with specially trained staff. This will de facto change the market for insecticides enormously,” explains Ernst and goes on to explain: “According to this regulation, only products that correspond to product class 19 may be freely sold, which applies to most Fulltec products.”
Austrian entrepreneurial spirit meets international requirements
Fulltec is unrivaled as an active ingredient notifier in this industry segment in Austria. “As a small company in an extremely demanding environment, we have managed to manage most of the way to the approval of our two active ingredients and to remain independent,” Bernhard Ernst explains the unique status of the company, which is still largely family-owned.
About Fulltec
Fulltec is an international company with customers in more than thirty countries. Originally founded in Switzerland in 1998, the competencies have been bundled in Salzburg since 2012 in order to ensure sustainable and direct management of the two active substance dossiers on the European stage. The company now produces insect repellents and insecticides based on its own active ingredients for well-known brand customers throughout Europe.
In Austria – and there only in pharmacies – the only Fulltec brand for end consumers is offered with the Fullaverde® Gelsenspray. As one of the most recommended brands, it was founded there as a “green alternative” in the fight against mosquitoes and ticks.
