‘Drag Race Sweden’ is the latest spin-off in RuPaul’s growing franchise
Drag Race Sweden was just announced, and became the latest international spin-off to add to RuPaul’s growing franchise. More information about the program’s first season is coming.
New spin-off ‘Drag Race Sweden’ is announced
Entertainment Weekly reports that Tom Campbell and RuPaul will be producing the new spin-off along with World of Wonders founders Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey. It will be broadcast on SVT in Sweden and also streamed on the WOW Presents Plus platform. Hosts, judges and actors for the program’s first season are expected to be announced soon.

Drag Race Holland Competitor Roem predicted on Twitter that Sweden would have the “shadiest” iteration of the show, based on how competitive the country has been in the Eurovision Song Contest. The Swedish group ABBA won the competition in 1974 with the song “Waterloo”.

RuPaul’s franchise takes over the world
The Drag Race The franchise continues to branch out with international spin-offs worldwide. Examples include Drag Race Thailand, Drag Race UK, Canadian drag race, RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Underand Drag Race Españaamong others.
Drag Race Philippines and Dragrace France has also been announced. The French spin-off will be hosted by Nicky Doll, who competed in season 12 of the original series. Nicky was born in Marseille, France.
The series was also broadcast recently RuPauls Drag Race UK Vs. The World, where drag queens from different countries competed. The title went to Blu Hydrangea from Northern Ireland, with Mo Heart of the United States as second.
