🇸🇪 Sweden: Cornelia Jakobs performs symphonic version of “Hold Me Closer”
Sweden’s Eurovision 2022 participant Cornelia Jakobs has performed a symphonic version of “Hold Me Closer”.
Last night during All of Sweden Rattles for Ukrainea Swedish charity event for Ukraine, Eurovision 2022 artist Cornelia Jakobs performed a symphonic version of her competing contribution.
Cornelia will also perform “Hold Me Closer” tonight at the London Eurovision Party, and next week at the Eurovision In Concert in Amsterdam.
Who is Cornelia Jakobs?
Anna Cornelia Jakobsdotter Samuelsson, also known as Cornelia Jakobs, was born on March 9, 1992 in Stockholm, Sweden. The singer made her music debut in 2008 when she auditioned for Swedish Idol. Her career took off a few years later when she joined Love Generation. The girl group participated in the Melodifestivalen 2011 and 2012, with the 2011 contribution “Dance Alone” which ended up on the Swedish lists.
Cornelia has written and composed a number of songs, including Efraim Leos Melodifestivalen 2021 song “Best of Me”. A year earlier, she composed and performed “Weight of The World”, the soundtrack to the HBO series Björnstad.

Sweden debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958 and has continued to be one of the competition’s most successful countries. The country has won the competition six times, the most recent was 2015. Sweden’s first victory came in 1974 when ABBA won the competition in Brighton with “Waterloo”. Since missing in the final in 2010, Sweden has finished third twice and won the competition twice, only in 2013 did the country end up outside the top 10 in the final.
