In the 3rd round of the Regionalliga Salzburg spring, the leader of the table could SV Seekirchen cave FC Pinzgau Saalfelden away with 2:1 to their knees. With this victory, the Lapkalo-Elf extends their lead over Kuchl, who is second in the table, and remains without a loss of points in the new year. Bitter for the Pinzgauer: ringleader Tamas Tandari nebulized a penalty in the aftermath.

Saalfelden clearly set the tone
“The weather was better here than in the city,” said guest trainer Mario Lapkalo, surprised upon arrival. His team was also a bit dismayed, as they were unable to match the good performance of the previous week. “We didn’t really get into the game – today we somehow lacked liveliness.” The people of Saalfelden, however, started their first home game of the 2022 season with ambition and quickly took command. After Joao Pedro and Tandari only narrowly missed the opening goal, Seekirchen’s first offensive moment ended with a penalty whistle. Volkert took the penalty and scored the more than flattering lead for the visitors (22′). The superior hosts then ensure at least a tie at the break: Winter newcomer Vadze netted after a Joao Pedro corner (35th). “We played very well in the first half, but weren’t able to gain a cushion,” FCPS coach Christian Ziege was not satisfied with the result of his team.
SVS witcher Tezzele recorded “three”.
The second half of the game was supposed to begin the way the first 45 minutes ended. The Pinzgauer continue to look for the fastest way to the goal and combine well through the ranks of SV Seekirchen – even if no significant chances looked out. That was to change quickly, however, when Vadze only hit the post after an ideal pass from an acute angle. During this phase, the guests were busy with defensive work and only spectated long-range shots from Fürstaller and Adjei. It was only after a corner that the Flachgauer were again dangerous and should use this opportunity through Büchele to take the lead again (70th). In the final phase, the Ziege men once again put everything on one card. The great opportunity to win a point late in the game followed, but Tandari was saved from the penalty spot by the outstanding guest goalie Tezzele (92′). “He gave us the win without a doubt. In the end it was one of the lucky guys,” said Lapkalo and his in-form Seekirchner three points. Meanwhile, Ziege mourned the missed penalty: “The defeat is very bitter, especially since we could have at least gotten a draw with the penalty. But if you don’t score the goals, you can’t win games.”
