It was to be a done deal. Bent from the start of the second half and a goal from the inevitable Mendy. Caen led 2-0 and appeared clearly above their evening opponent, more brave than talented. The Caennais unfolded with a fairly total mastery of the debates, without being worried and brushing twice the 3-0 which would have settled the question definitively. Instead, Stade Malherbe scared themselves until the fight against Dunkirk. However, he escaped without damage, signing for only the second time this season a second consecutive victory (2-1).
The court frees Caen
When the Caen machine had started, we do not talk expensively about the skin of the Dunkirks. Court seemed to free his team by opening the scoring after a perfect cross (shot?) from Mendy, who had shown all his power on the ball. The Caen number 11 took it twice to conclude near the cage, but the main thing was there (1-0, 36′).

In the second period, Caen did not wait long to confirm this logical advantage. This time the roles were reversed. The passer was called Court and the scorer, full of cold blood, Mendy (2-0, 49′). The locals were above without a shadow of a doubt. Abdi, with a shot on the crossbar (55′) and Da Costa, on the post (57′), confirmed it in stride.
A dominant midfield…
Certainly, the Caennais had started the meeting slowly, embarrassed by the total commitment of an opponent playing his survival in Ligue 2. But after a rather dull quarter of an hour on both sides, Norman intentions were affirmed . However, the achievement suffered from a few approximations, despite an omnipresent Deminguet, Lepenant, Court midfielder and an extremely available Da Costa. Caen failed to materialize the obvious visual superiority.

… have a tricky end to the game
Court’s goal settled the match and, therefore, foreshadowed a very peaceful outcome. Dunkirk decided otherwise by using the bet twenty minutes from the whistle in the heart of a weak time as brutal as it was unexpected in the red and blue ranks. Tchokounté, the elder of the house, was well isolated when he crucified Riou (2-1, 71′). Caen continued to fall back dangerously and Dunkirk almost took advantage of it twice (83′ and 91′). It had remained at the stage of (big) scares. The SMC is now sixth in Ligue 2!
