Appointment with the Gdc of San Marino for a discussion on the war in Ukraine and the energy transition
“In our last press conference you left us with a provocation: ‘Does politics still exist?’ ”.
“A provocation – declares in a statement i Young Christian Democrats of San Marino – to which we have tried to respond through various initiatives: our school of political training, the think tanks that have allowed us to involve and involve in an extensive way people involved in daring their contribution, but also the book, recently, dedicated to history and to the protagonists of the youth movement who have been at the center of the political life of our country ”.
“We therefore answer this question with ‘yes’: lhe politics exists, and will always exist, because it has been inherent in man’s DNA since the dawn of time, which by the ancient Greeks was defined by the ancient Greeks as ‘politikòn zôon’, or ‘political animal’ – say the Gdc -. A definition applicable to all those who, even through a simple action, such as a comment, a proposal, an idea or even can influence the management of the public good and the society in which we live “.
“Today, however, as young people, we feel we can also raise another question: given that politics exists, but men do it, is it possible to find good politicians nowadays? A question that requires, on our part, a further commitment – underlines the youth movement of the San Marino Christian Democratic Party -. In our opinion, good politicians can be defined on the basis of a fundamental aspect, namely their ability to be able to involve the population in the decision-making process, respecting the healthy balance of state institutions and the roles of society. civil. Hope that we have repeated several times, through our appeals aimed at restoring a climate of serenity and reconciliation in a Republic that in recent years has been torn apart by clashes, targeted attacks, and a lot of chatter “.
And again: “We, on the contrary, we believe in the need for a political dialogue based on the will to build; a dialogue that focuses on ideas and projects to address the needs that the country manifests in order to look positively to the future. Because of this you need trained actors; actors that today, in some cases, we struggle to identify. As a youth movement, we feel responsible for filling this gap. A goal that is set through a path of continuous training, which will through a path of continuous training, internal to the movement, but also with people who do not plan like us, business meetings, study moments, trips abroad, transforming the experiences accumulated in an effective contribution for San Marino. This is what we are achieving thanks to the precious work of our representatives within which organizations the YEpp and EDS and a work to raise awareness on the process of the Association Agreement with the EU. Linking political involvement with a concrete strategy, this is what we aim for. However, this aim cannot be achieved if first restoring a climate of serenity and respect in our country, based on the active involvement of citizens and social bodies “.
For this reason, the Young Christian Democrats of San Marino say they are “delighted with an extraordinary appointment, which refers precisely to the need for proper training and in-depth study of the scenarios and issues that, as a Republic, we need to analyze”.
The first date is that of Tuesday 5 April at 7 pm, live on the Gdc Facebook page: “We will deal with the following topic: ‘War impacts in Ukraine and energy transition: and scenarios’. After two years of pandemic and with an ongoing conflict at the gates of Europe, can the government program still be considered current? Are the approaches to certain issues still current? If they are, how to implement them? If they are not, then should they be rethought? This means good politics for us: asking ourselves about what we are doing, if we are doing it well, with a logic that recalls the very strong crisis we are experiencing ”.
There will be, as guests, “the State Secretary for Labor, Teodoro Lonferniniand friends of the People’s Party, such as the Honorable Alessandro Cattaneo, energy expertwho will offer us his point of view on how Italy and Europe are dealing with the issue of transition and energy independence “.
A moderate the evening will be Gianni Todini, director of Askanews.
“We will try to understand what Europe is doing, what Italy is doing, what San Marino is doing and what it could do”, finally say the Gdc.
