Verona, last hours to collect 66 thousand euros won in the Lotto
A double-digit win thanks to a “five” at the Superenalotto played at the newsstand near the town hall. This was one of the most talked about news at the beginning of the year among the citizens of Mozzecane curious to know who was the lucky one who collected those 66 thousand euros. Now, almost three months after the important win – it was Saturday 8 January when the five rounds of the Superenalotto favorable to the player came out of the Carta Shop newsstand in via Caterina Bon Brenzoni 21 – it turns out that the money was never collected. And for this reason, the curiosity about the mysterious winner resurfaces, especially among the regulars of the Sisal business, who have begun to wonder what the lucky player looks like; whether it is a familiar face of the town and of the same shop, or a person who found himself on that fateful Friday 7 January just passing through Mozzecane and, before leaving, decided to enter the shop to make the resulting 3 euro bet, then, winning.
Money not yet collected
Among these, there are also those who speculate that the money has not yet been collected, as the winner may not be aware that they have won. “I have no idea who it might have been who took the five winning numbers. Many of the customers are wondering who it might be. It is unlikely that we will ever know, given that when the sum exceeds 3 thousand euros, we are not the ones who have to give it, but the bank ”, explains Rahul Singh, owner of the newsstand who remained, like many others surprised by the fact that the 66 thousand euros won in his shop have not yet been collected.
The mayor’s joke: “Allocate them to the Municipality”
In fact, only nine days for the winner to get their hands on the huge sum: if it is not collected by 8 April, it will be forfeited. Money that would be useful to many, especially in this difficult period of economic crisis. The mayor of the town of almost 8,000 inhabitants jokes about it, Mauro Martelli, shortly after hearing the news: “They could allocate them to the Municipality; they would be useful, given the increase in gas costs ».
