The Finnish Immigration Service is setting up new reception centers
Finnish immigration The service is preparing to set up new reception centers as the accommodation needs of people fleeing Ukraine have increased.
In addition to reception centers, the Finnish Immigration Service may set up service points for private accommodation,
through which applicants for asylum or temporary protection who have provided accommodation themselves have access to reception services, such as health and social services and reception support. Most Ukrainians fleeing to Finland stay in private housing.
Some of the new reception centers are branches of existing reception centers. The Finnish Immigration Service will continue to add accommodation in existing reception centers.
The Finnish Immigration Service is responsible for coordinating, planning and supervising the reception system. The Finnish Immigration Service has reception centers in Helsinki, Lappeenranta (Joutseno) and Oulu. Other reception centers are run by NGOs, municipalities and companies.
