San Marino, Pedini Amati in Oman for a bilateral agreement with Minister Al Mahruqi Italpress news agency
SAN MARINO (ITALPRESS) – The Secretary of State for Tourism, Cooperation, the Post Office and the San Marino Expo Federico Pedini Amati met today in Muscat the Minister of Tourism and Heritage of the Sultanate of Oman SE Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahruqi in a first bilateral history between the two countries, during which the imminent signing of a memorandum of understanding for development and synergistic cooperation in the tourism sector and a series of collaboration initiatives, events and meetings were discussed .
A few weeks after the visit to the Secretariat of State for Tourism of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Oman in San Marino Ahmed bin Salim bin Mohamed Baomar held on the day of the presentation of the same, of the letter of participation to the Captains Regent, Today’s bilateral meeting was organized and the draft of the memorandum was prepared.
Six points at the center of the document being examined by the Omani government: institutional cooperation in the tourism sector between authorities and offices; the exchange of information and know-how in the objectives of gastronomic, commercial, outdoor and experiential, sports, accessible and event tourism; the development of investments in infrastructures and services for tourism; collaboration and synergistic promotion for participation in conferences, fairs, seminars and symposia; collaboration in international competitions; the training of personnel for the tourism professions through the exchange of technicians and experts.
The Sultanate of Oman has been considered, in recent years, among the most popular tourist destinations for travelers from all over the world thanks to an unparalleled historical and natural heritage and the particularly rapid development of infrastructures. In 2020 and 2021 the World Travel Awards have Oman “as the best natural tourist destination” with a particular mention for the mountains that awarded the three thousand meters, the canyons, the date palm groves, the beauty of the beaches, and the desert. Furthermore, Oman was one of the first countries to which Italy opened tourist corridors to allow the more than 100,000 Italians who travel annually to the Sultanate to return to visit it during the pandemic emergency.
For next April, emissaries from the Omani Ministry of Tourism have set a series of talks in Milan with the main Italian tour operators and the Secretary of State Pedini Amati has requested the extension of the meetings also to San Marino companies, the proposal accepted favorably by Omani technicians it will be submitted to tour operators active in the Republic of San Marino.
Over the months, the Republic of San Marino has developed a prestigious network of bilateral relations in the countries of the Arabian peninsula following an important recent diplomatic work but also the fruitful and active San Marino presence at Expo Dubai 2020.
