A new stir in the Plan Faubourgs bath. The Confederation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (CPME84) and the association Avignon: Responsible Development and Mobilities (A-DREM) have decided to go through the legal process. On March 16, 2022, they filed a request against the town hall of Avignon before the administrative court of Nîmes.
That emergency procedure will allow them to obtain a quick and provisional court decision (order).
Economic consequences
” We have already called the municipality, the prefecture, parliamentarians and through the press. The businesses we represent lose up to 70% of their turnover according to their statements. This decrease leads to store closures and layoffs. As nothing changes, we go to the next step. explains Olivier PIERI, general secretary of the CPME Vaucluse.
Other sorrows are numerous: access difficulties employees in their company, delivery people too, devaluation in the short and medium term of private and professional real estate, loss of attractiveness tourism for the City, increase in the Pollutionand problems of health public…
” It is a disaster. Ambulances are stuck in traffic jams. We are talking about human lives…”, he notes.
What solutions?
“It would have been more favorable to multiply the parking lots, to wait for the arrival of the tram and the second section of the East-West link”, opines Olivier Pieri.
The CPME would like to remind you of this. It is apolitical but is committed to defending the interests
