Overseas: 3,000 square meters of meadow on fire: the Munich-Salzburg railway line has been temporarily closed

On Tuesday (March 29) at around 12.45 p.m. a fire broke out in the area of the railway embankment near the railway overpass on State Road 2096 between Grabenstätt and Übersee.

In the further course of the operation, the deployed fire brigades explored the nearby area for other fire sites as hidden embers and checked the extinguishing success with a thermal imaging camera. In addition to the police officers, a rescue service crew from the Bavarian Red Cross was alerted. However, the paramedics did not have to intervene and nobody was injured.
What exactly led to the fire is unclear. After a good hour, the fire brigade’s operations were completed and the railway manager was able to release the Munich-Salzburg train route again. The two fire brigades were deployed with around 30 emergency services and six vehicles.
