“I will continue as long as I can”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has talked about his future after Sweden was beaten by Poland last night in the World Cup final.
A Robert Lewandowski penalty and a goal from Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski were enough for Poland to book their place in the tournament later this year and that means Ibrahimovic will not participate in the World Cup in Qatar, something that some sources claimed would influence the decision on his future .
Of course, there are other factors that come into play such as his physical condition, something he has struggled with in recent seasons and influenced the fact that he could only play less than 20 minutes from the bench last night.
But his comments after the match indicate that he does not intend to stop playing football because he talked about his future and suggested that he continue.
“As long as I can stay healthy and play and contribute something, I hope so. I will continue as long as I can, and that applies to the national team but also to Milan,” he said (via MilanNews).
“I have not talked to the coach yet, but I would have liked to meet him earlier. I would have needed just a minute with him and I would certainly have returned to the national team earlier. “
