State Secretariat for Finance and the University of San Marino present the new graphics
The new version of the San Marino Card (SMaC), an evolution of the San Marino discount card created in 2008, will be introduced in the coming months with a new graphic layout and will be edited by four students of the University of the Republic of San Marino thanks to a competition held in collaboration with the Secretariat of State for Finance and Budget. Image, logo, website, app, frame of promotional campaigns and more, including the new cards made of eco-friendly material, were in fact defined by a group of students enrolled in the master’s degree course in Design, among selected authors of 25 different projects, for a total of 45 students involved. Andrea Ingrando, Salvo Pitingaro, Barbara Merlino and Alessandro Ricciardo, first, were awarded this morning by the Secretary of State for Finance, Marco Gatti, in the Aula Magna ‘Fausta Morganti’ of the university building of the Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara, in historical center, during a ceremony that also saw the works that obtained the second and third place, as well as two honorable mentions, presented and appreciated. The winners, selected by a jury of six figures that gathered academics, representatives of the Secretariat of State for Finance and professionals, developed the new graphic identity taking into account the “peculiar characteristics of the service” and enhancing the concepts “of discount, savings and circularity ”, highlighted in the use of certain graphic elements. “It was an interesting challenge – they commented – also because we use the SMaC every day. The goal was to give it a youthful and fresh look, without upsetting it “. The message therefore includes “the return of an advantage that is not only economic but which has repercussions on the well-being and interest of everyone: exhibitors, users and state bodies”. The director of the master’s degree course in Design, Massimo Brignoni, was satisfied: “In addition to being an initiative that responds to the third mission of the University, aimed at collaborations and projects carried out for the territory, this was undoubtedly the most participated competition in the history of our studies “. The Secretary of State for Finance, Marco Gatti, who spoke during the presentation stated that “the era of creating a new SMaC will capable of providing more digitalized and innovative services, therefore more suited to the needs of current consumers. Among the main innovations there will in fact be the possibility of making payments directly from your smartphone via an application. The new paper will be made of fully recyclable material, with special attention to the environment. We have thought for this innovative process to enhance the resources of the University and start with them the project for a new look at SMAC, fresher and more youthful “. “We did not expect this challenge to be taken up by so many students. We had to choose between many projects, all worthy, and it was not easy to identify the winner. I therefore want to thank all those who participated in the competition, I hope soon to be able to undertake new collaborations between the Government and more specifically between my Secretariat of State and the University “.
