Portugal scores nine goals against Finland and is in the U-17 European Championship

The U-17 National Team qualified this Tuesday for the European Championship of the category by beating Finland 9-1, in the last meeting of Group 8 of the Elite Round that took place in Viseu.
Portugal needed a draw and even badly in the game, they only had one after two minutes, Finnish Talvitie. The Portuguese response was overwhelming, with goals from Afonso Moreira (11′), João Gonçalves (13′), José Dinis Rodrigues (45+1′, 60′ and 65′), Rodrigo Ribeiro (72′, 80′ and 89′ ) ) and Diogo Monteiro (90+2′).
Portugal finished with nine points from three games, having previously beaten the Republic of Ireland 4-1) and Bulgaria (2-1).
The final stage of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship will take place in Israel from 16 May to 1 June, with 16 teams. Portugal joins Germany, Spain and France among the group winners.
