Poland vs Sweden LIVE: World Cup finals team news, team lineups and more tonight
England football: Tough matches will prepare the team for tournaments, says Southgate
Follow all the action when Poland meets Sweden for a place at the World Cup later this year.
Poland, who had initially been drawn against Russia in the play-offs semi-finals, got a farewell to the final due to the continued invasion of Ukraine. Instead, Czesław Michniewicz’s team played Scotland in a warm-up friendly last week, with Krzysztof Piatek’s late penalty securing Poland a 1-1 draw. However, the friendly was not without a loss, as both Arkadiusz Milik and Bartosz Salamon were injured and have since been ruled out of tonight’s match, although Robert Lewandowski is well rested and ready to lead the line.
Sweden will be significantly more tired after being taken to extra time in a tense play-off semi-final against the Czech Republic. Robin Quaison eventually secured Janne Andersson’s side of a 1-0 victory to place the 2018 World Cup quarterfinals in a win after reaching Qatar. They are further strengthened by the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who had served a suspension but is now available again. Follow all action live below:
