Multilingualism and sporting activity are the dominant themes of the 2022 public summer centers organized by the Education Department
It will be a summer full of proposals and news that awaits the children of the Infant, Elementary and Middle Schools of the Republic of San Marino. The 2022 summer centers organized by the Education Department are introducing proposals this year related to the study of foreign languages and cultures and the practice of sporting activities. The big news is represented by the summer center of Japanese language and culture; to boys and girls aged 10 to 14 (i.e. to those who attended the fifth grade and middle school in the current school year), at the Fonte Dell’Ovo Middle School and will offer activities that will take place at Japanese language and activities linked to the traditions and customs of Japan so that they can understand its culture and learn the language while having fun. The summer camp with the British School is reconfirmed for elementary and middle school children; to this is added the new summer sports center during which, every day, boys and girls will alternate French and Spanish language lessons with sports activities thanks to the collaboration with some federations (rugby tennis, judo, sport fishing, shooting with bow, bowls, golf, cycling, timekeepers). The collaboration with the San Marino Sports Federations is reconfirmed (rugby, gymnastics, swimming, tennis, sport fishing) and with them the attention to inclusion for boys and girls with special needs is intensified. Added to these this year is the collaboration with San Marino Attitude whose teachers will conduct dance workshops at the Ca ‘Ragni summer center for children and at the Dogana summer center for elementary schools.
Andrea Belluzzi (Secretary of State for Culture): ‘The summer camps still met with great success yesterday, we opened the registrations and in just 24 hours we received more than 420 requests and more to arrive. This year we have introduced novelties and new collaborations started both with private realities that have required a lot of coordination work. Our summer camps are a system with the territory, I imagine this is the future path for children to explore their own attitudes and preferences. ready We are to collaborate with anyone who brings an idea which, if deemed feasible, will be taken into consideration. Diversifying the proposals means responding to the interests of each child, of each family. I acknowledge all my esteem to Monica, I extend my compliments and thanks for the great work done to her. ‘
Monica Ugolini (Coordinator of Summer Centers): ‘We asked ourselves a lot about what the interests of our young people were, hence the introduction of novelties related to the Japanese language and culture for middle schools, a topic that very much fascinates our children. It will be a very rich summer for all school levels thanks to new and reconfirmed collaborations. ‘
