Camunia and San Marino, Collecchio Corse is there
De Antoni shines, albeit slowed down by a touch, on his debut in the premier class while President Assirati’s return to the wheel is celebrated in the Republic of Titano.
Felino (PR), 29 March 2022 – A weekend full of interesting ideas saw Collecchio Corse close two trips that have clearly positive qualities.
At the Camunia Rally, scheduled between last Saturday and Sunday, Edoardo De Antoni climbed for the first time in an absolute car, the Motor Team Skoda Fabia R5, surprising everyone.
Ready, go and on the first timed engagement the driver from Camposampiero, paired with Federico Raffetti, set the tenth absolute time, before hitting a light touch.
After restarting thirty-sixth position in the general, the young forward of Felino’s team stood out, scoring an eighth partial third, on the se on the rod and on the seventh special that allowed him to recover twenty-one positions, concluding a brilliant debut with the fifteenth overall, thirteenth of RC2N group and R5 class – Rally 4.
“We got off to a very good start” – says De Antoni – “and, perhaps, I gained too much confidence on the second, making a mistake. On a bend we took some dirt and went to lean against a wall, practically standing still. In the impact we twisted the convergence arm and the wheel, losing a lifetime of time. On Sunday we went strong, to be our first race. We managed to get to take just over a second per kilometer from someone like Nucita. To be our first race in R5 we can only be very satisfied. I was not used to such high speeds and the room for improvement is considerable. Everything was new. The car, the team and the sail. It couldn’t get any better than this. “
A happiness that spreads from Brescia to the shadow of Monte Titano where, on the occasion of the traditional Scuderia San Marino Circuit, the patron of the Parma team, a Gianni Assirati, who, paired with Jonathan Franza, concluded on a Saturday at the start. and a Sunday dyed in white and blue with the fourth among Rally 4, on a Citroen C2 R2.
“We have improved and we have also improved at times” – Assirati (president of Collecchio Corse) says – “but what really mattered was to understand if I could still stay behind the wheel. From the first to the second lap we improved and then decided to try some set-up changes that didn’t pay off. The car performed very well. Lo which is dated, not even comparable to the Peugeot 208 Rally 4 which is invested in class, but we had a lot of fun. Heartfelt thanks to the good Max Minardi, mechanic at our side on the occasion. Congratulations to the San Marino team, a really beautiful and fun route, especially the mixed section. We are very satisfied with the result that we have reached when we come back to work, and we will certainly see each other again at the home race, our Taro. “
Little luck on the other hand for Milo Pregheffi, at the start with Anita Lamberti Zanardi on the Subaru Impreza edited by Soretti and registered in the Rallystars category, forced to leave the company already during the first heat due to serious mechanical problems, which in the end proved to be unsolvable.
