Volt Portugal calls on the President of the Republic to promote the reform of the electoral law – Observer
Volt Portugal sent a letter to the President of the Republic expressing its electoral concern at the way in which the two editions of the 2022 legislations by the circle of Europe went and calling for the reform of the law.
In a direction addressed to Marcelo Rebelo de Portugal Sousas2 the candidates of the Volt to the 2 legislative women for the circle of Europe Duarte Costa and Pedro Malheiro list the identified identities and that, in their identity, increase in abstention in this circle.

Volt Portugal considers it essential to correct the LEAR, so that citizens can, in the future, exercise the right to its fullest.
The party asks Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to “deliver a message to the Assembly of the Republic (summoning it to this extraordinary form of necessary problems) so that in this message the reform of the LEAR new legislature is promoted urgently and with particular attention to the ” communiqués that took place in this election and “which limit the vote of Portuguese voting abroad”.
According to data from the National Elections Commission (CNE) in the first few minutes of Thursday, 110,182 chosen (11.90% of those registered) vote in the European circle, which represents an abstention of 88, an abstention of 88%.
In the vote that was considered null, on January 30, abstention had been 79.33%. 33,565 votes were considered null.
According to the official map with the results of the elections of those elected to the Assembly of the Republic, the PS elected the legislative elections of 30 January, with 2,302,601 votes, corresponding to 42.50% of the total number of voters, electing 120 deputies.
