Tour of Wacker II from Fügen shot in five minutes
In the penultimate game of the regular season, Wacker II and Fügen are fighting for very important points for the continuation of the Regionalliga Tirol in the lower play-off – the fight against relegation. For Fügen it is the chance to break away from bottom of the table SV Innsbruck, whereby SVI lost 0:1 against Telfs after a quite good performance. But Wacker II sets the first exclamation mark – a great long-range shot by Daniel Spinn in the 18th minute means the home team take the lead. But Fügen reacted immediately, remained aggressive and was awarded a penalty a few seconds after the goal was conceded, which Stefan Hussl converted to make it 1-1. Only four minutes later, a well-placed free kick from Manuel Jochriem went straight into the Kreuzeck – 2:1 for the guests. Fuegen tries to follow suit – but it stays at the 2:1 lead for Fuegen at the break.
Only ten minutes were played in the second half – after a corner Stefan Hussl is there again and makes it 3:1 for Fügen. Fugen pulls back a bit, Wacker can’t really put the guests under pressure. However, joining does not play the counterattack consistently enough. This quickly takes revenge in the finish, because in the 74th minute Rami Tekir can reduce Wacker’s lead to 2:3. In the end, it stays with the 3:2 success for Fügen. There is still one round to be played in the regular season, Fügen has a six-point lead over SVI – however, the points will be halved for the play-off.

Thomas Luchner, coach SV Fuegen: “It’s a very difficult situation for my team – we currently have nine absentees, but I think we won the game. Even after falling behind, we quickly turned the game around, but couldn’t catch up. A 4:1 or 5:1 would have been possible at this point instead of 2:3. The game got a little tighter there. But victory is extremely important for morale!”
