There are jobs for hundreds, maybe thousands of Ukrainians in social enterprises
When Ukrainians flee before the war, for example, to Germany, Belgium or Scandinavia, they also offer them work in a social enterprise as first aid. Slovakia could have a similar social enterprise, Ivan Mako, president of the Association of Social Economy Entities, says.
“There is no need to invent anything, abroad the social economy is the first safe information and education zone for refugees and migrants,” says Mako, who is also chairman of the board of the successful social enterprise WASCO in Valaská.
If every social enterprise in Slovakia employed only five refugees from Ukraine, several thousand people would find work, he says.
Not only work, but also language and support
