Russia is not even trying to justify a world war against Ukraine
Russia, which has waged a war of aggression against Ukraine, is not even trying to justify it in the eyes of the international community.
This was stated by German Chancellor O. Scholz, speaking at the Berlin forum Global Solutions Summit, Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Russia has made no effort to give Ukraine an invasion of even the appearance of legitimacy under national law. Not to mention international humanitarian law, Russia violates every deliberate bombing of homes, schools and hospitals, ”Scholz said.
He said Putin’s war of aggression was threatening peace in Europe and the world. The current moment is a turning point.
The German Prime Minister stressed the need to invest more in the security of Germany, the security of Europe and the transatlantic alliance; and reduce strategic dependence, especially in the energy sector.
Scholz found that the unity of structures such as NATO, the EU and the G7 was not the result of “collective terror only a violation of Russia’s people’s law”, but the result of several months of intensive coordination processes. So it is no coincidence that the sanctions “so strong and so accurate” were imposed in weeks or months, as before, but within hours, say German politicians.
He acknowledged that “if necessary, there are other options that we will use purposefully.” Already, according to the chancellor, Russia is largely isolated in the international economic and interfinancial system, and this pressure will continue and intensify.
Scholz also said that Germany is increasing humanitarian aid to Ukraine and its neighbors to 370 million euros and will allocate an additional 430 million euros to the global fight against hunger, which threatens the world through war.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops crossed the Ukrainian border together from the north, east and Crimea. They are destroying the city, shelling and destroying key infrastructure, housing, killing civilians, and committing crimes against humanity.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
Ukraine has officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation in the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.
The United States, the European Union and other countries have used sanctions against the aggressor country, international isolation, which is growing by the day.
