Pupils help pupils – youth campaign “föranand” of the OSE – Liechtenstein
SCHAAN – The “Volksblatt” presents the projects supported by “We share: Fastenopfer Liechtenstein”. Today with part four that in India.
With the youth campaign “föranand” “WE SHARE” wants to sensitize young people to people in need and encourage them to become active themselves. For the seventh time, young people have been involved in development cooperation projects. This year the high school in Eschen could be persuaded to cooperate. The students work to ensure that needy children in India can attend school and receive a warm lunch every day.

The way out of poverty is through a good education. However, many families in India are unable to pay for their children to go to school. The Covid pandemic has made the situation even worse. For this reason, the aid organization Namaskar INDIA has been covering the costs for school fees, school materials and school uniforms for children from poor backgrounds at the St. Lawrence School in Ranebennur in the state of Karnataka for several years.
The children in the remote villages in the Bagalkot district are also happy about the opportunity to go to school. In Asangi, where there used to be no school, Namaskar INDIA opened the Asha Deep School in 2013. The 280 children receive a hot meal every day. Namaskar INDIA pays for the cost of lunch including firewood and cooks.
