Festival União Hip hop + Reggae debuts in Lisbon with Ponto de Equilíbrio and Valete – Observador
The União Hip hop + Recomende festival will be organized for the first time in Portugal this year, after five editions in Brazil.
The event, which arrived scheduled for the Carlos Lopes Pavilion, in Lisbon, last year, took place on September 17 at the LX Factory, in Lisbon, and reached eight hours of music.
“Portugal has welcomed us with open arms. We are sister countries and these bonds of brotherhood are exactly what the event wants to convey. The union between different musical styles that create atmosphere, through music, a union between harmony and coexistence between peoples and their differences. Our project is a long-term project, because we intend to carry out not only the first edition, but also several other“, said, in a statement, the producer of the event, Dirceu Melo.
The festival is already around, in its editions in Brazil, with names like Racionais MCs, Cone Crew, Edson Gomes and Mano Brown, among others.
The Portuguese Valete is marking the 20th anniversary of his debut album, “Educação Visual”while the Brazilians Ponto de Equilíbrio return to Portugal five years after their last concert, at the MUSA Festival, in Cascais.
Last year, Valete was part of the União Reggae + Rap festival lineup, in an exclusively online edition due to Covid-19.
