DGS warns of poor air quality in mainland Portugal
The Directorate-General for Health (DGS) warns of a situation of air quality failure in mainland Portugal this Monday, March 28th.
In a statement, the DGS said that “this situation is due to the intrusion of a mass originating from the deserts of North Africa, which transports dust in suspension and crosses mainland Portugal, increasing with the increase of advanced inal particles of natural in the air. “.
In view of this scenario, the DGS leaves it as follows:
- – The general population should avoid prolonged exertion, limit physical activity outdoors, and avoid exposure to risk factors such as tobacco smoke and irritants.
- – The following phenomena, due to their greater vulnerability to the effects, in addition to serving as large groups for the general population, should, whenever possible, remain inside buildings and, preferably, with closed ones: Children; Elderly; Patients with chronic problems, called asthma; Patients are cardiovascular.
- -Chronic patients must maintain ongoing medical treatments.
- The DGS that “in case of advanced symptoms, contact the Health Line 24 (808 24 24 24) or resort to a health service”.
