Book industry professionals come together to discuss how books become movies
Program for Black Hole Spring has now been released, an event that focuses on how books become movies. Among the speakers are Andris Feldmanis and Livia Ulman, Estonian screenwriters Title no. 6 – An award-winning film based on a book Rosa Liksom.
Another highlight of the program is Todd BrownDirector of International Procurement for XYZ Films, speaking on adapting local material to global audiences.
The special features of the event are bilateral meetings with time reserved after the program. Participants are encouraged to book appointments with each other before the start of the event. The matching features of the Brella platform make it easy to find the most suitable contacts.

The Black Hole Spring event is part of the Oulu Writers’ Association’s ongoing project to build a network of publishing professionals to promote the export of northern literature. The event is made possible by the financial support of the Oulu Region Council and the City of Oulu. The partners are FILI of the Finnish Literature Exchange, the Helsinki Literature Agency and the Center for the Promotion of the Arts.
The hybrid event will be held at BusinessAsema (Hallituskatu 36 B, Oulu) on April 26, 2022, but the event can also be followed via the Brella virtual environment.
