Gallagher helps England defeat Switzerland; Havertz, Werner scored for Germany against Israel
When we look at the management of Chelsea after Roman Abramovich, there was a lot of talk about renovating the stadium and maintaining competitive professional teams – both men and women. However, we must not overlook or ignore the fact that the one taking over Chelsea is required to be committed to the development of young people, including at the male and female levels, not only as an additional source of income but also to uncovering some of the best football talents of recent times.
England’s friendly against Switzerland was a good reminder of how the loan Chelsea army, although not as pronounced as in previous years, should still be a thing even with the new restrictions imposed by FIFA. Conor Gallagher, who was loaned out at Crystal Palace this season, and Mason Mount – who began his professional career with loans from Vitesse and Derby County – have started against the Swiss national team.
Gallagher was the climax himself. In his first match as a pioneer of the Three Lions, the 22-year-old impressed against the Swiss national team, which showed they should not be underestimated when they come to the World Cup. Not only did he have a great game in the middle of the field, so did he helped Luke Shaw of Manchester United thus began the return of England, the home team winning 2-1.
Die Mannschaft hosted Israel in a friendly match at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena in Germany. The confrontation against Chelsea strikers Kai Havertz and Tim Werner, both of whom were starting yesterday, did not offer much resistance, as the Germans dominated in all areas.
Both Havertz and Werner also scored two winning goals for Germany. The endeavor of the former was a the textbook head from the corner on a nearby pillar.
Werner’s effort was also simple but effective, bouncing the ball into the back of the net from a free lightning near the area.
The Chelsea footballers were also in action in friendly matches with the Croatian and Spanish national teams. Midfielder Mateo Kovačić started in the draw of Croatia with 1: 1 against Slovenia at the Education City Stadium, one of the venues of the upcoming World Cup in Qatar. Croatia’s goal was opened by Andrej Kramarić in the first half, but the opponents were able to resist the breakthrough for further goals until the last minute, when they equalized through Jake Bijol.
Meanwhile, Spain beat Albania 2-1 at the RCDE Stadium in Cornellai with goals from Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo for the hosts and Myrto Uzuni for the guests. Marcos Alonso started as left-back La Furia Roja and the Chelsea captain entered the pitch as a replacement for Dani Carvajal in the second half.
