APDA rebels against anti-violence measures by Liga Portugal: ″Enough of discrimination″
Entity dedicated to the protection of the adept that the plan of the organism understands by Proença as “not the way” to follow
The Portuguese Association for the Defense of Fans (APDA) rose against a prevention strategy for this Sunday of security in stadiums, lined up by Liga Portugal, as it considers that it discriminates and stigmatizes fans as a whole.
“Enough of discrimination, stigmatization and general discrimination. Realize that this repressive landscape has to change, and you can count on the APDA to fight this change”, reads a statement on Facebook.
As measures, announced on the 23rd of March, the creation of which gave rise to a meeting between Liga Portugal and the Authority for the Prevention and Combat of Violence in Sport, with a view to its implementation, consists of several points.
The League idealizes, among others, the creation of a centralized platform for real-time access control; control of the sale of nominative tickets for access to the stadium; duty of the supporter to present himself to the authority, in case of interdiction, during the home games of the team in whose game he practiced illegality; creation of interdiction of enclosures; Effective inspection of access to the stadium and police intervention in case of disorder in the stands.
“For the Liga Portugal, for the football spectacle, directed to, there is, in a statement, families must, who must be destined, for what measures must those responsible for the most violent acts, so that they are responsible”, he justified, in a statement, the body that defends professional football in Portugal.
The Liga Portugal, he also said, intends, with this “combat” strategy, “to permanently ban some incidents that have taken place in football stadiums” in the country.
In protest of the opposition to the position taken by the entity chaired by Pedro Proença, which originated an anonymous placement of a protesting strip at its headquarters, APDA understands that the implementation of the aforementioned measures “is not the way and the proven” with the of the adept, a document abolished this time.
