Red Bull Salzburg successfully defends title in the ICE Young Stars League

In the ICE Young Stars League (U20), EC Red Bull Salzburg secured the title with a perfect series of finals. The Salzburg celebrated a 3:1 victory on Saturday at the Austrian champions, the Eishockey Akademie Steiermark, and won the final series 3:0. This is the Red Bulls’ third title in the Young Stars League.
After two clear home wins in the “Best-of-Five” final series, the series is moving to the Eishockey Akademie Steiermark in Graz for the first deciding game. Inspired by the successes in front of the home crowd, the guests started the match with a lot of pressure and gave EAS goalkeeper Darius Schachenhofer some tasks to solve early on. In twice the deficit, however, this deficit could no longer be prevented in the first third. Vadim Schreiner made it 1-0 for Salzburg in the 18th minute. Late in the second half, Fabian Gschlusser expects a follow-up for the Red Bulls. At the beginning of the final section, Hanno Paternoss gave the Styrians hope again with a goal, before Jesse Kauhanen, outnumbered, made the decision and the third title in the ICE Young Stars League.
