A 30-year-old man is said to have killed a 73-year-old in a restaurant in Cologne. After the homicide on Friday morning, the suspect was arrested at his home address in the evening, prosecutors and police said on Saturday evening. A judge at the district court in Cologne had issued an arrest warrant for manslaughter. Witness statements and the evaluation of the evidence secured at the scene of the crime would have led the investigators to the trail of the 30-year-old man from Cologne.

Craftsmen found the senior, covered in blood, in the restaurant on Friday morning. Despite immediate resuscitation measures, the 73-year-old died at the scene. According to “Express”, it is the innkeeper. A police spokeswoman said on Friday that nothing was known about the identity of the victim. Witnesses had seen the man alive in the street near the pub two hours earlier. The background to the crime is still unclear, it said. A homicide detective is investigating.
