Victor Lindelof congratulates Anthony Elanga on his Swedish debut
Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has congratulated the young gunman Anthony Elanga on his international debut.
Elanga came off the bench in extra time to help Sweden see a 1-0 victory over the Czech Republic.
The win moved Sweden to the playoff finals in their section, just a match from reaching the World Cup.
Teammate Lindelof played all 120 minutes in the win, and the couple posed together in the locker room for a selfie after the match.
Lindelof offered Elanga his congratulations and said he was “so happy” for his big step.
The pair are now preparing for the World Cup finals, which will take place on Sunday.
Sweden travels to Poland for the match, with only one winner advancing to the final in Qatar.
Elanga played just five minutes from the bench in last night’s match, and will probably have a role as a substitute again, hoping to become a hero.
Reaching the 2022 World Cup would be a game changer for Elanga’s career and further strengthen his status as an emerging star.
