The Ocean & Climate Village exhibition by ioc-Unesco Eventi in Venice arrives in Venice
At the Venice Arsenale, from 28 March to 3 April 2022, Ocean & Climate Village arrives, the first interactive and educational exhibition dedicated to the ocean and climate, created by the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (CIO-UNESCO) and the Regional Bureau of Science and Culture of Venice in the context of the Decade of Marine Sciences for Sustainable Development (2021 – 2030). The exhibition is included in the schedule of “Le Città in Festa 2022”, a rich calendar of events and widespread events that will animate the entire municipal area of Venice, and sees the support and contribution of partners and academic, research and private entities. Such as the Cà Foscari University, IUAV, ISMAR-CNR, Corila, University of Milano-Bicocca, MSP MED, The Playful Living, E.ON, the Prada Group, Panerai, Grifal, Possea, Style Piccoli (the family magazine del Corriere della Sera), Venice Calls, WeRoad, the explorers of National Geographic Italia, Submon, TAO.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Monday 28 March at 10.00 with a press conference that will see the participation of Ana-Luiza Thompson Flores (Director UNESCO Regional Bureau of Science and Culture in Europe), Francesca Santoro (Program Specialist of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of the UNESCO and promoter of the Decade of the Sea in Italy), Massimiliano De Martin (Councilor for the Environment, Private Building and Urban Planning of Venice).
Ocean & Climate Village is a multisensory and educational experience dedicated to the ocean and climate theme, conceived with a view to co-creation, collaboration and sharing of knowledge to reconnect people to the ocean. Visitors will thus be able to “immerse themselves” in an exciting journey into the abyss, and learn more about the importance of the ocean for our planet and our future.
The exhibition, of its kind, can be visited free of charge in three ways: free visit, guided visits also for schools – with marine biologists and dida laboratories, participation in debates and meetings with, journalists and the surrounding area.
