Live on ORF Sport+: Can Altach score against Sturm for the first time?
The SPG SCR Altach / FFC Vorderland started with a draw against Altenmarkt and a win in Bergheim in spring. The Vorarlberg women are still waiting for something to count against SK Sturm Graz. In all previous duels, the “Blackies” appeared as winners from the field. In the first duel of the season in autumn, the women from Altach were not far away from winning a point, and in the end Sturm won 3-2 at home. Christian Lang’s team dropped points for the first time this season in the 1-1 draw against Vienna last weekend. Since St. Pölten won near Südburgenland, the Lower Austrians are now alone at the top of the table. Whether Sturm can return to victory in the CASHPOINT Arena will be decided live on Saturday from 12 noon on ORF Sport+.
Live on ÖFB-TV: Altenmarkt as a guest in St. Pölten
After two draws against Altach and FC Wacker Innsbruck, the difficult guest appearance at SKN St. Pölten awaits SKV Der-Poolbauer Altenmarkt. In autumn, the team from the Triestingtal suffered a clear 0:5 defeat and this time it will probably be a difficult task for the seventh-placed team against the Ligakroesus. St. Pölten is expecting a flawless start to spring and last week they kept a clean sheet in the 3-0 win against FC SKINY Südburgenland. With a complete success, coach Liese Brancao’s team could take another step towards the championship title. The game in St. Pölten starts at 5:30 p.m., ÖFB TV shows the game live everywhere.
Austria will fight back in the fight for third place
With two defeats against Sturm and Neulengbach, FK Austria Wien has made a botched start to the 2022 calendar year. As a result, the violets lost a ground in the table and slipped down to fifth place. In the home game against FC SKINY Südburgenland (Sunday, 1 p.m.) Austria is the clear favorite. With 7:1, the first duel of the season was a clear affair for the Viennese. FC Südburgenland is still without a point after two games in spring, although they were able to defend themselves against a goal in the 0:3 against St. Pölten. Depending on the outcome of the basement duel between FC Wacker and Bergheim, the Red Lantern could move back to Burgenland. There are detailed highlights of the game on Monday on ÖFB TV.
Direct duel against relegation in Innsbruck
Due to the 1:1 in Altenmarkt, FC Wacker Innsbruck was able to leave the bottom of the table after the last round. Innsbruck are now one point ahead of FC Bergheim. There will be a direct duel with the Salzburg women on Sunday. Bergheim is still pointless and goalless in the spring. After the 0:3 against Vienna, it was 0:2 against Altach/Vorderland last Saturday. The only win of the season so far came in autumn against Wacker Innsbruck of all places. Julia Kastner gave her team a penalty kick to a celebrated 2-1 victory in September. Whether Bergheim can repeat the success or whether Wacker manages to take revenge will be seen on Sunday from 2 p.m.
